Mario Figueroa
Lead Pastor
Mario has been serving as a pastor in Tampa since 2020. In 2023, with a strong sense of calling to establish a multicultural church to maintain generational unity in bilingual families, he left his 17+ year career in the healthcare industry to attend the Sovereign Grace Churches Pastors College in Louisville, KY. Mario then returned to Florida to plant Vine Church Tampa.
Mario and his wife, Diana, were both born in Puerto Rico and were saved during their young adulthood. They have been happily married since 2011 and have two daughters, Anasofía and Mila. As a family, they enjoy talking, making jokes, as well as playing board games, and movie nights (especially superhero movies).
Luis Carlos Asencio
Pastoral Intern & Music Leader
Luis Carlos has been serving as a church music leader in Tampa since 2020, where Mario was pastoring at the time. He is a Doctor of Medicine, a gifted musician, a composer, and one of the founding leaders of Para Su Gloria’s music ministry. He also collaborates with Sovereign Grace Music. In 2022, God worked in Luis Carlos’ heart the desire to join Mario’s vision of the church plant.
Luis and his wife, Elizabeth, were born in the Dominican Republic and were saved in the early 2000s. They have been married since 2008 and have two sons, Abiel and Abel. As a family they enjoy video games and road trips.
